On Sunday evening, Swansea issued a statement regarding the future of Ghanian forward André Ayew, where the 29-year-old declared he wanted to stay at the club.

Ayew is currently part of an unbeaten Swans squad who sit top of the Championship as they go into the first international break of the season.

The former West Ham United forward had spent last season out on loan at Turkish club Fenerbahce, but since Steve Cooper has come in as manager, he seems to be back in the mix at the Welsh side.

Swansea will be hoping to keep up their excellent start to the season when they take on Nottingham Forest back at the Liberty Stadium after the international break.

Talking to swanseacity.com, Ayew said: “I’ll be honest and say I have had a number of offers from some major clubs abroad. The club was aware of the options, but made it clear they wanted me to stay.

“I’m really enjoying my football at Swansea and I’d like nothing more than to stay part of this squad."
