Sunderland fell to a 2-1 defeat against Charlton at Wembley this afternoon, with the Addicks scoring a stoppage time winner with just six seconds of the game remaining.

In truth, Lee Bowyer's side were the better team on the whole and deserve credit for bouncing back after a farcical own goal from Naby Sarr had given the Black Cats an early lead.

However, Sunderland didn't kick-on from that, instead sitting back and soaking up pressure, which was their undoing.

That has angered many fans of the north-east club who are not happy with how the team performed, as they gear up for another season in the third-tier.
