‘Has to go’, ‘Enough is enough’ – Plenty of Charlton Athletic fans fume at key figure after defeat to Portsmouth

Charlton Athletic suffered defeat at The Valley on Tuesday evening, as they were beaten 3-1 by promotion rivals Portsmouth.

Kenny Jackett’s side took the lead on the night through Michael Jacobs, before Jayden Stockley equalised for the hosts shortly after half-time.

However, the scores remained level for just three points as Tom Naylor put Portsmouth back in front. Andy Cannon then gave the visitors a two-goal lead at The Valley, and they held on to take an important three points to strengthen their grip on a top-six finish in League One.

Charlton are currently sat eighth in the League One table after this defeat, and they’ll know that they simply have to put together a positive run of results in the second-half of this year’s campaign if they’re to have a serious chance of winning promotion back into the Championship at the first time of asking.

Plenty of Charlton Athletic supporters have aimed their frustrations at Lee Bowyer after the defeat to Pompey, which means they’re outside of the play-off positions on goal difference heading into their final 20 matches of this year’s campaign.
