West Bromwich Albion have made an excellent start to the Sky Bet Championship season under Slaven Bilic and are starting to build some serious momentum.

The Baggies are two points clear at the top of the league table, are unbeaten in their last ten matches and have won their last six.

There's still a long way to go in the promotion race, but Albion's start to the season under Bilic has given fans at The Hawthorns every reason to feel confident about their chances of returning to the Premier League.

There are so many players who have been instrumental to the Baggies' success so far. Matt Phillips is Albion's top scorer with seven goals, while goalkeeper Sam Johnstone has kept five clean sheets.

Matheus Pereira, Grady Diangana and Romaine Sawyers all joined the club in the summer and have all been outstanding, while the likes of Kyle Bartley and Jake Livermore have both improved dramatically from last season.

The Baggies' promising start to their campaign has got Albion fans talking on social media, with one supporter posting on Facebook: "Really hard question and I know we are only halfway through the season but who is your player of the season so far?"

Plenty of West Brom fans were quick to comment on the post and give their thoughts as to who the Baggies' standout player has been - the likes of Pereira, Sawyers and Bartley were among the names to be mentioned.

Here is a look at some of the best responses from West Brom supporters on Facebook...

Brad Wallage: Pereira.

David Rock: Sawyers or Bartley for me.

Jan Tovey: Too difficult. Pereira, Sawyers, Diangana or Livermore for me but to be honest such a great TEAM this season I could pick almost anyone.

Graham Carr: Livermore, Bartley.

Mick Emery: Robson-Kanu, playing out of his skin, followed closely by 10 others.

Ryan Staley: For me personally it has to be Sawyers! We click so much better with him in the team! Progression wise on the other hand (compared to last season) then it has to be Bartley. He was absolutely shocking last season to now being one of the best in the division!

Peter Workman: Pereira and Diangana, along with Ferguson.

Goff Tudgay: Sawyers - cool, calm, great passer, commands the midfield, accurate passing rate.

Matt Browne: Pereira hands down.

Simon Silwood: Young player Ferguson then anyone for player of the season. Not getting carried away but so far this is the best team I’ve seen in a long, long, long time. Brilliant.

Paul Starkey: Pereira by a mile. Oozes class, what a talent.

Steve Smith: Bartley, he took a lot of stick last season, apart from a few minors, he’s been a rock.

Alessandro Pomeroy: Kyle Bartley has transformed himself into a composed, reliable leader. We all wrote him off and he has re-written his legacy at this club. Sawyers is pure class and Pereira has been unplayable at times but Bartley is the one defying expectation. COYB.

Nick Daffern: Kyle Bartley. Dependable and solid, scoring, assists, leading the back four and has his heart fully in the team. Best is he's young and improving.

Nathan Jackson: Couldn't actually choose just one, they're all so involved in each others' progress, a true team.
