Cardiff City have completed their fourth signing of the summer transfer window, after confirming the arrival of defender Aden Flint from Middlesbrough, subject to international clearance.

Flint only joined Middlesbrough from Bristol City last summer after spending five seasons with the Robins, and went onto make 42 appearances in all competitions during his single campaign at the Riverside Stadium, scoring once.

The 6ft 5 in defender has joined for an undisclosed fee reported to be in the region of £6million, signing a three-year contract with the Bluebirds which will keep him at the Cardiff City Stadium until the summer of 2022.

It appears as though Flint will operate as a direct replacement for Bruno Ecuelee Manga, whose departure from Cardiff for French side Dijon was confirmed earlier on Friday.

Cardiff have already completed the signings of goalkeeper Joe Day from Newport, defender Curtis Nelson from Oxford, and midfielder Will Vaulks from Rotherham in the summer transfer window.

Taking to Twitter to react to news of Flint's signing, a number of Cardiff fans appeared to be excited by their club's latest recruit.
