Liam Kelly started his fourth consecutive Championship game in goal for Queens Park Rangers last night, but has he done enough to make it five against Brentford on Monday?

QPR drew 2-2 at home to Reading last night, in a game that could've taken the West Londoners to 2nd in the table.

Goals from Nahki Wells in the first-half and Jordan Hugill in the second were both cancelled out - Well’s by George Puscas minutes after, and Hugill’s by Sam Baldock midway through the second-half.

Mark Warburton said his side weren’t deserving of the win, and will be sorry that his side couldn’t hold a lead on two occasions.

There were some positives for Warburton to take from last night though - one of them being Kelly’s performance.

The 23-year-old came into the squad for Joe Lumley who, after failing to keep a clean sheet in nine Championship games, was subsequently dropped.

QPR’s search for a clean sheet continues under Kelly, who’s conceded nine in his four appearances so far.

He is however showing signs of improvement. Last night he made a handful of good saves in the game, where Reading could easily have had a couple more if it weren’t for the Scot.

Mistakes are still looming large though and it seems to be a common theme - for Josh Magennis’ consolation goal against Hull at the weekend and Puscas opener last night, Kelly was slightly too quick off his line which allowed both strikers to finish relatively easy.

QPR now have the weekend off before they host Brentford on Monday night, as Thomas Frank’s side make the five-mile journey from Griffin Park to Loftus Road.

Brentford go into the game on the back of two good wins against Millwall and Swansea last night, and will be raring to make another big statement in the home of their West London neighbours.

Warburton will be keen to settle on a number one, it’ll do his defensive woes no good if he’s constantly changing between two.

Kelly is quickly adapting to the Championship and has shown strong signs of progression in his last four games. Expect him to be the number one for the Brentford game and in the coming weeks, and expect to see a better keeper every game.
