West Brom moved to capture winger Callum McManaman in the transfer window of 2015, spending £4.75m on the Wigan man.

At the time, McManaman's stock was high. He'd won the FA Cup with the Latics in 2013 and had been named Man of the Match in the final. He was the leading scorer at the DW Stadium when he left too, with five goals from 23 matches.

West Brom thought they were getting an exciting player for a knock-down price, a player with top-flight experience and the scope to learn and improve with them in the Premier League. How wrong they were.

He was Tony Pulis' first signing as Baggies boss, but he made just eight Premier League appearances in the final six months of the season. The following campaign was no better, he struggled to 12 top flight outings, taking his total with the Baggies to 25 in all competitions.

He was farmed out on loan to Sheffield Wednesday in December 2016, before joining Sunderland's doomed survival attempt last season.

He's now back where it all began, with Wigan Athletic, but he's never quite reached the heights these Baggies fans hoped he would on the day he signed.
