Football League World's Queens Park Rangers fan pundit Louis Moir has given his opinion on the performances of versatile full-back Ryan Manning, who has excelled this season since being moved back from midfield by R's boss Mark Warburton.

The 23-year-old Irishman has been in brilliant form for the club this season, currently standing out as one of their most creative outlets this term with an impressive three assists from left back.

The full back was integrated into the full back position by Warburton, who clearly recognised the youngsters ability to get up and down the pitch well, with his energetic performances out wide giving the west Londoners attacking play a whole new dimension this season.

The defender's performances have naturally not gone unnoticed amongst the QPR faithful and Moir was quick to recognise his contribution, when questioned about Manning's showings, he said:

"It is fair to say that Ryan Manning has started this season so well.

"I don't think anyone expected him to have pushed on so much in terms of his ability and consistency.

"Whether he is playing in the wing-back position or just as a left full-back, he manages to get forward continuously to put in good crosses for the strikers to attack.

"On current form, I think he is the best left-back in the Championship in my opinion."

Moir was then asked if he felt Manning was better as a left-back than a central midfielder, to which he replied:

"I think every QPR fan would agree with me on this point, that he is far better as a left-back compared to where he played previously in midfield.

"He was not affecting games as much when he got his chance playing in the middle of the park and certain managers did not seem to rate him.

"Manning can count himself quite lucky actually because Mark Warburton brought in another left-back in the form of Lee Wallace on a free transfer from Rangers during the summer.

"I am pretty sure he would have been starting every week but unfortunately, he got injured in pre-season meaning Manning took the left-back spot and he has gone on to make it his own."

It is fair to say that Manning has really come into his own since making the move from midfield to defence, and the youngster will definitely have his manager to thank for that, with Warburton clearly having a key role in the position switch.
