Bristol City opted to engage in a reasonable amount of transfer activity over the course of the summer window.

As well as securing the services of Stefan Bajic, Mark Sykes, Kane Wilson and Kal Naismith, the Robins also sanctioned a number of departures.

One of the individuals who was allowed to leave on a permanent basis was Kasey Palmer.

After making 79 appearances in all competitions for the Robins during his time at the club, Palmer sealed a switch to Coventry City in June for an undisclosed fee.

Here, we have decided to take a look at whether Palmer has kicked on since making this particular switch...

When you consider that Palmer only featured on six occasions in the Championship for Bristol City last season, it was hardly a surprise when his departure was announced by the club.

The 26-year-old managed to provide a total of 15 direct goal contributions in a Robins shirt.

Despite the fact that his spell at Coventry is still in its infancy, Palmer has been relatively underwhelming in an attacking sense this season as he has only produced two assists for his team-mates.

Palmer has also only managed to find the back of the net on one occasion in the Championship for the Sky Blues despite making 16 appearances.

As a result of a lack of consistency, the attacking midfielder has drifted in and out of Coventry's starting eleven in the current term.

Deployed as a substitute on seven occasions in the second-tier, Palmer will need to step up his performance levels when Coventry return to action as he is currently competing with Callum O'Hare and Jamie Allen for a place in the side.

Palmer's highest average WhoScored match rating (6.68) for the Robins occurred during the 2020/21 season.

When you compare this to the current term, it could be argued that the attacking midfielder has not kicked on as he is currently averaging a rating of 6.63 at Coventry.

Palmer's priority in the coming months will be to help the Sky Blues stay in contention for a top-six finish.

Coventry are currently two points adrift of Millwall who occupy the final play-off place in the Championship standings.

Whereas Palmer's current side have won four consecutive games at this level, the Robins have recently embarked on an underwhelming run.

Having failed to secure a victory since their meeting with West Bromwich Albion in October, Nigel Pearson's side will be determined to get back to winning ways when they take on Rotherham United on December 10th.
