It was a disappointing afternoon for Leeds United in the Sky Bet Championship yesterday, as they lost 3-0 to Yorkshire rivals, Sheffield Wednesday, at Hillsborough.
Despite entering the contest as favourites, and starting the game well, Leeds could not deal with Wednesday’s constant wave of attack, as Carlos Carvalhal’s side picked up a vital three points.
Two first-half goals from Gary Hooper put Wednesday in complete control, before the impressive Kieran Lee sealed the victory with an excellent late strike.
Leeds were disappointing, with a number of Thomas Christiansen’s side letting him down at Hillsborough.
Samuel Saiz was perhaps the only player to head back to Elland Road with any credit, with the midfielder tending to cause Wednesday problems when on the ball.
Leeds’ Twitter account posted a picture of Saiz getting held back by David Jones during the first-half of yesterday’s clash, which has sparked a hilarious response from Wednesday’s supporters.
