Last season was bitterly disappointing for Sheffield Wednesday fans.

After two season's of playoff standard football, they watched their side trudge to midtable mediocrity with a 15th place finish.

A lack of goalscorers was a big part of the problem at Hillsborough. Top scorer, Atdhe Nuhiu only chalked up 11 goals with Gary Hooper also chipping in with ten.

£2.7m-rated Steven Fletcher is somebody who failed to deliver massively last season. The experienced Scot was brought in to score goals yet only managed two.

In the 2016/17 season, he saw a much better return, scoring ten goals. But his form is clearly beginning to slip massively.

So is his time up at Hillsborough? Or can he rediscover his touch?

It should be, Sheffield Wednesday need fresh ideas ahead of the new season.

Somebody like Sam Winnall should be given a chance ahead of Fletcher next season.

Chris Gallagher

I'm not sure.
The quality is there but his injury issues are a concern and there will be other options for Jos Luhukay, so essentially it's down to Fletcher.
He needs a big pre-season to show he can be a part of this team.
Gary Hutchinson
Has he not retired yet?
Yeah, he'll be on his way. He didn't play much last season and the goals have dried up to. Get out gracefully!
George Dagless
I think so.
The Scottish forward started well last season but is well down the pecking order now.
He should be let go this summer.
