On-loan West Brom winger Harvey Barnes has had his say on those rumours about a potential recall from his parent club Leicester.

Barnes has been in excellent form this season, scoring five goals as the Baggies sit second in the Championship table.

He revealed that he expects to stay with Darren Moore's side for the rest of this season despite speculation that Leicester are planning to recall the in-form midfielder in January.

Speaking ahead of England Under 21's matches against Andorra and Scotland, Barnes expressed his delight at his good form at West Brom and believes that Leicester will keep him out on loan at the promotion hopefuls.

“At the minute a full season is what’s been agreed, so at the minute in my head that is what’s going to happen, I’m going to be staying there for the season.

“I’m enjoying myself. I don’t know what will happen but we will see. I’m enjoying myself so I hope it continues.”

Leicester had previously cut short Barnes' previous loan spell at Barnsley in January, but the 20-year-old only went on to make three Premier League appearances, in a combined time of just seven minutes of action which would have been disappointing for the youngster.

Barnes revealed that he is hopeful of getting further game time in the early stages of career to help aid his development in the professional game.

"I’m still a young player, at an important time of my career, so for me it’s all about getting the pitch time, getting the experience and getting games under my belt.

Barnes and his West Brom team mates will be hopeful of continuing their impressive run of form as they take on Wigan after the international set of fixtures.
