West Brom clinched promotion back into the Premier League on Wednesday evening, as they drew 2-2 with QPR at The Hawthorns.

The Baggies had to better Brentford's result on the final day of the season to seal a timely return to the Premier League, and they did that as the Bees fell to a surprise 2-1 defeat to Barnsley at Griffin Park.

Slaven Bilic will be delighted to see his side get over the line in the race for promotion, with his side struggling for a consistent run of positive results since returning to competitive action.

But the Baggies boss will be hoping that he can continue to take the club in the right direction next season, with reinforcements likely to be targeted in the summer transfer window.

Former West Brom players Harvey Barnes and Nathan Ferguson were quick to take to social media to react to the club's promotion being confirmed on Wednesday.

Barnes spent the 2018/19 season on loan with West Brom, and certainly made a positive impact, as he scored nine goals and was on hand to provide eight assists in his 28 appearances for the club, before being recalled by Leicester City.

Whereas Ferguson has only recently left the club, as he joined Premier League side Crystal Palace on a permanent deal.

The Verdict:

It's good to see them wishing their former club well after achieving promotion back into the Premier League.

Barnes was absolutely brilliant in his time with the club last season, and the club's supporters would have been disappointed to see him be recalled from his loan spell by Leicester City.

Ferguson's departure might not have gone down well with some fans, but it's good to see him wishing the club well after making a timely return to the top-flight.

It'll be interesting to see how the Baggies cope in the top-flight next term, in what is likely to be a hugely competitive division.
