The 26-year-old will be a free agent when his contract expires at the end of the month and he is yet to be offered a new deal.

Ronnie Moore is looking to bolster his goalkeeping department in preparation for the 2015/16 season and is said to be a keen admirer of Andersen.

The North-East club do have connections with Reading having had Aaron Tshibola on loan for the second half of last season.

Pools boss Moore is now ready to pounce for the stopper should he become a free agent at the end of the month on the back of his connections with the Berkshire club.

Andersen did play five times for the Royals last season but was mainly used as a deputy behind the in-form Adam Federici.

Should Anderson not be offered a new deal it would leave Stuart Moore as the only recognised custodian left at the club, although it is an area Clarke is prioritising ahead of next season.

Hartlepool fans… Would you welcome the addition of Andersen?
