Huddersfield Town’s January recruit Harry Toffolo has been named as the Terriers’ ‘Player of the Month’ for February.
The 24-year-old defender joined the Cowley revolution from Sky Bet League One side Lincoln City after impressing from left-back for the Imps over the last 18 months. Toffolo picked up a Sky Bet League Two winners medal during his time in Lincolnshire, also appearing in the PFA League Two team of the season.
Toffolo made 33 appearances for the Imps this campaign, registering one goal and three assist which tempted Huddersfield to lure him away from Lincoln.
Having worked with Danny and Nicky Cowley before, Toffolo has slotted straight into the Huddersfield side since his arrival and has impressed. The former England youth-international was a mainstay in the Lincoln City squad that fired their way to the Sky Bet League Two title.
Since making his debut for the Terriers, the attacking full-back has played a huge in role in Huddersfield’s survival bid having picked up a goal and an assist as well as helping Huddersfield become defensively solid.
Toffolo scored his first goal for the Terriers at Pride Park against Derby this month. A trademark Toffolo run saw him in on goal and he slotted past Kelle Roos and into the corner.
The defender tweeted out his delight to have won the award from the club’s supporters but also sent the fans a message regarding the upcoming West Yorkshire derby with Leeds United tomorrow. It will be Toffolo’s first appearance in this crucial game for both teams as Huddersfield will be looking to avenge the 2-0 defeat on home soil to Marcelo Bielsa’s men back in December.
Extremely humbled to be February Player of the Month voted by the fans. Now let’s look forward to derby day tomorrow 😃👍🏼 https://t.co/3BvP0UNYB2

Toffolo was an excellent addition to the Huddersfield side after impressing during his 18 month stay with Lincoln City. The former Norwich City defender upped his game during the first half of the season and was arguably one of Lincoln’s best performers as they look to consolidate in Sky Bet League One. Having an opportunity to play Championship football seemed too good of an opportunity for Toffolo to turn down,
The full-back is known for his attacking ability with his ability so strike up with a relationship quickly with the winger ahead of him, during Lincoln’s title winning campaign Toffolo and Bruno Andrade caused teams so many problems down the Lincoln left. Toffolo understands when overlap and deliver a pinpoint cross into the centre forward and when to hold his position so that his side can remain defensively solid.
Toffolo was a huge fan favourite with Lincoln City and it looks like he is well on his way to being the same with the Huddersfield Town faithful.
