Everybody knows the story of Birmingham City's season in the 2016/17 campaign.

Flying high towards the top of the division, the club made a rash decision to part company with Gary Rowett.

His replacement was Gianfranco Zola, who somehow them almost all the way down to relegation.

They were saved at the end of the season by Harry Redknapp, who masterminded back-to-back wins in their final two games of the season to keep them narrowly afloat.

But Birmingham supporters will be praying that this season is full of positives and that they could perhaps even sneak up into the play-offs.

The man who has taken on the job is the highly experienced Harry Redknapp who has shown his ambition by targeting players with calibre such as Ashley Cole and Robbie Keane.

They have also signed highly rated duo David Stockdale and Marc Roberts.

But one player I think Redknapp should definitely bring to St Andrews in Arsenal midfielder Jon Toral.

The 22-year-old spent the season on loan with Birmingham in the 2015/16 campaign, an exceptional year for the young attacking midfielder.

In his 36 league games for the club, he managed to find the net an impressive eight times as well as adding a further four assists.

Last season, he spent time out in Spain playing for Granada which was pretty unsuccessful but he then moved to Scottish side Rangers where he featured 12 times.

But the best thing for Toral now is to find a new permanent home and at Birmingham City there is a set of supporters who will be delighted to see his return.

Birmingham fans... Is this a no brainer in your eyes? Should Toral be brought back permanently? Let us know what you think in the comments!
