Sheffield United centre-back Harry Maguire has completed his long-awaited move to Hull City.

It has been a long transfer saga between Hull City and Sheffield United for the England under-21 international’s signature. Premier League Hull had appeared to have pulled out of a move for Maguire after baulking at Sheffield United’s valuation of the defender.

There was confusion on Monday after Sheffield United announced on their website that they had ‘reluctantly accepted’ Hull’s offer for Maguire only for the Tigers to later claim that they had not made an improved offer for the defender.

Hull City have now confirmed the signing of Harry Maguire alongside completing a deal for Dundee United’s left-back Andrew Robertson. 21 year-old Maguire has now agreed a three-year deal with the Premier League side with the club holding the option to extend the deal for another year.

Harry Maguire is a product of Sheffield United’s academy system, he made his debut for the Blades as the club suffered relegation to League One in 2010/11. However the 21 year-old has since become a fixture in the starting line-up at Bramall Lane, in all making 134 appearances for the club, scoring nine goals.

The Blades have already seemed to have replaced Maguire at the club with Walsall’s Andy Butler and Blackpool’s Harrison McGahey both signing earlier this summer.
