A crunch game this weekend in League One takes place at The Valley with the under pressure Nigel Adkins taking on Danny Cowley’s Portsmouth.
Charlton Athletic were amongst the favourites to finish in the top six this season and therefore languishing in 21st place after eight matches is an extreme cause for concern. The Addicks put in an encouraging performance but were held to a 1-1 draw at Gillingham in midweek despite having much the better chances.
Conor Washington was substituted at half time with a swollen ankle, and Corey Blackett-Taylor completed his first match for the best part of two years so changes on the flanks account for two of the three alterations we are predicting Nigel Adkins will make.
