Nathaniel Mendez-Laing was ruled out for the remainder of the season after New Year.

The Cardiff City man was forced off at half-time in his side's 2-1 win at Sheffield Wednesday back in December, and was quickly ruled out until the summer with a hamstring injury.

The 27-year-old had featured 19 times for Cardiff in the Championship this season, scoring twice and coming into better form under Neil Harris.

Since his injury, Cardiff have played 15 games in all competitions - winning four and losing as many. It's thrown Cardiff seemingly out of top-six contention, and Harris under the bus.

Without a win in four now, and with an injury to Lee Tomlin as well, Cardiff have been left with very little firepower and it looks as though they'll have to settle for a mid-table finish.

We asked Cardiff fans of the Facebook groups 'Cardiff City Fans Group 2019/20' and 'Only One Cardiff City' whether they think Harris has missed Mendez-Laing, and whether they think he'll make a difference when he returns next season.

Here's what they had to say:

Julian Riddiford: Yep Neil Harris has missed him, be so glad when he comes back.

David Miller: No, he's not that good.

David Marlow: Until his injury he was looking like the old NML.

Robert Flynn: Three good run, oxygen at the ready.

Simon Karl Jones: Absolutely.

Ewan Heppenstall: By far.

Les Davies: True right he will.
