Bobby Reid has been impressing on-loan at Fulham of late, but will he have a place in Neil Harris' Cardiff next season?

The Jamaican had to wait a long time to get going in a Fulham shirt but after scoring the winner against Stoke yesterday, he finally looks to be hitting form for the Cottagers.

His finish from close-range sealed the 1-0 win which takes his side to 3rd in the table, and it was his third goal in two games having bagged a brace against Luton Town on Boxing Day.

He's now on four goals for the season and he'll be the first to admit that he didn't have the start to the season he would've been hoping for - the 26-year-old went 15 Championship games without scoring but always put in the graft, and never once let his head drop.

It's testament really to a forward who's had it pretty tough in the past couple of seasons.

Scoring so many goals and winning so many awards for Bristol City in the 2017/18 Championship season, Reid was for a short-time the hottest property in the league.

He sealed a Premier League move to Cardiff at the start of last season with the Welsh club having just been promoted, and Neil Warnock believing that Reid could be the man to fire them to top-flight safety.

But he struggled, as did the whole team. Reid managed just five Premier League goals last season and with Cardiff looking to ease the drop financially, they loaned him out to Fulham.

Fulham fans knew that Reid was a goal-scoring machine just waiting to be released and now that he's got a few goals under his belt, he looks to have the confidence to go on and have a really strong second-half of the season for Scott Parker's side.

With that in mind, it'll get Cardiff fans and Harris pondering Reid's future in South Wales. There's the option for Fulham to make his move permanent, and that decision will come down to the striker at the end of the season.

Fulham would probably keep him but it's a question of finances for them - they have a lot of high-earning players returning from loan-spells, and might not be able to take Reid on into next season.

A player of his quality though will always be welcomed by Harris and Cardiff. It's hard to see how Reid would fit into Harris current Cardiff team but he'll certainly be keeping an eye on him with his recent form, and who knows, he could be a vital player for them next time round.
