Swansea City winger Jordan Garrick has impressed upon his performances for Steve Cooper's side so far this season after the former England youth manager has given the 21-year-old a chance.

Garrick has made seven appearances for the Swans so far this season after joining the Championship side four years ago from Ossett Albion, and the quick winger has wasted no time in settling into the first-team squad this season.

This week, Cooper has now taken it upon himself to permanently promote the youngster into the first-team squad by presenting him with his own personalised locker in the dressing room at The Liberty Stadium.

The 21-year-old, however, will know that everything he has worked for over the past few years hasn't come through luck or through having sheer talent, it came through hard work and a desire to be the best that he can.

Any youngster that believes they have made it as a footballer with a few first-team appearances is wrong, as players in the past have proven before falling down the pyramid or dropping out of the game at an early age altogether.

Garrick certainly looks like he has the talent to go all the way and become a regular under Steve Cooper at Swansea as the season progresses on, however being given their own locker in the Swansea dressing room doesn't automatically mean that a player has made it.

The 21-year-old right-winger will know that the hard work is still yet to come, that he has to keep performing out on the training pitch and taking his opportunity on the Saturday in a first-team environment when Cooper hands him his opportunity to go out and impress the coaching staff and the supporters inside the stadium.

Cooper has placed a lot of trust in Garrick over the first three months of the season so far, and the winger is certainly repaying that faith so far as he continues to develop his game and make sure that he is doing all he can to ensure he'll have a Football League future.

Garrick has been one of the players to step up from the Swansea under-21s in recent years, but this season is just the beginning for his senior career.
