Things are not going well at Elland Road, with Leeds United’s current form in the Sky Bet Championship representing that of a club fighting relegation, not one that has aspirations of ending a long wait for a Premier League return.

Leeds began the season magnificently, and in mid-September, topped the table, which is the reason that Thomas Christiansen’s side are still sat fifth, despite suffering five defeats from their last seven Championship fixtures.

That run of form has seen Leeds slide down the Championship table throughout October, and Friday’s 2-1 defeat to Sheffield United left the Whites seven points behind the Blades, who currently top the division heading into this week’s fixtures.

Defender, Matthew Pennington, who is on-loan at Elland Road from Everton, has urged Leeds to remain positive despite their poor run, insisting that heading into Tuesday’s clash with Derby County, they remain in a decent position.
