It has been a disappointing start to the campaign for Brentford, sat in 17th place and with just nine goals to their name.
Last weekend’s defeat to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground ensured that they went into the international break off the back of a loss, and will be eager to rectify that against Millwall in two weeks time.
However, they were handed a significant boost when The Bees confirmed on Wednesday afternoon, via their official Twitter account, that Sergi Canos had signed a new deal.

Canos made the move to Brentford from Norwich City in the January transfer window of 2017 for just over £2.5million and he has gone on to be an integral squad member, making 148 appearances, scoring 23 goals and assisting 21 more.
He has been an ever-present in the side this season too, racking up three assists in their 11 Championship clashes so far, so it was no surprise to see such a positive reaction to this news…
