West Bromwich Albion striker Hal Robson-Kanu has taken to social media to reflect on the past couple of days, which have seen him sign a new contract with the club and score his first goal of the season.

The 30-year-old scored an 82nd-minute winner against Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon, to ensure that West Brom remain top of the Championship table - just one day after the forward signed a new deal with the Baggies.

Robson-Kanu has been an important player for West Brom over the past few seasons and signed a new one-year contract extension at the club on Friday, extending his stay at the Hawthorns until the summer of 2021.

The striker followed this up by coming off the bench to score a late winner at the Riverside Stadium to ensure that Albion remain top of the Championship table after twelve matches, turning the ball in at the far post after a goalmouth scramble.

Robson-Kanu has now commented on what a whirlwind few days and has posted a message to West Brom fans on his personal

The striker also admitted that it was great to see his teammates Grady Diangana, Filip Krovinovic and Matheus Pereira doing so well and good for the team to start a week that will see them play three matches with a victory.

West Brom are now two points clear at the top of the Championship table and will be hoping to continue their momentum with another three points against Barnsley on Tuesday night.

The Verdict

It's been quite a few days for Robson-Kanu. I'm sure the striker will be delighted to have signed a new contract, but even more pleased to get his first goal of the season.

It was such an important goal for the team and it should give him a huge confidence boost going into the next few matches, especially seeing as he hasn't had that much time on the pitch this season.

The striker seems to be enjoying his football at the moment though and he could have an important role to play in the Baggies' promotion push under Slaven Bilic this season.
