‘Gutting’, ‘Been class’ – Plenty of Sunderland fans react as frustrating injury blow is confirmed

Sunderland have shown real improvement in recent weeks, as they look to win a timely promotion back into the Championship.

The Black Cats are currently sat fifth in the League One table, and will be keen to close the gap on league-leaders Rotherham United at the earliest of opportunities.

But they were dealt a frustrating injury blow in their recent win over Oxford United at the weekend, as defender Bailey Wright was forced off late into the game at the Kassam Stadium.

Speaking in an interview with the club’s official website, Phil Parkinson issued an important update on Wright, and claimed that the injury ‘doesn’t look good’.

“It doesn’t look good, that’s all I can say. Bailey has been excellent for us but if he is out for a period, Alim comes in and there’s no problem with that at all.”

Plenty of Sunderland supporters took to social media to react to this frustrating injury update on Wright.

Take a look at the best of the reaction from Twitter below….
