Leeds United defender Leif Davis was stretchered off with a knee injury in the under-23s' 0-0 draw against Bristol City under-23s on Sunday, leaving many Whites fans concerned.

Leeds have seen a number of their defenders sidelined due to injury already this season, with Liam Cooper, Luke Ayling, and Barry Douglas all missing games.

It appears Davis is the latest addition to that list as, according to Leeds Live, the 19-year-old had to be stretchered off in the first half of the Professional Development League game against the Robins.

Davis went into a heavy challenge with City striker Famara Diedhiou and after receiving treatment on the pitch was unable to continue and needed assistance leaving the pitch.

The full extent of the teenager’s injury is currently unknown but it is understood he was down in “some discomfort”.

The 19-year-old had made three appearances for the Whites this season, including two starts in the Carabao Cup.

Davis was particularly impressive in the Carabao Cup loss to Stoke City last week and provided the assist for Helder Costa’s goal.

Having made his debut under Marcelo Bielsa last season, the defender has gone on to make eight first-team appearances for the Yorkshire club.
