‘Gutted’, ‘Mental’ – Plenty of Reading FC fans react as player is linked with January departure

Reading full-back Omar Richards has emerged as a surprise transfer target for German giants Bayern Munich according to The Telegraph.
Richards is out-of-contract at the end of this year’s campaign, and it is claimed that he is wanted by Hans-Dieter Flick’s side heading into the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old has made 21 appearances in all competitions for the Royals this season, and has caught the eye with a number of strong performances for Veljko Paunovic’s side.
Richards has been a regular in the Reading team that have emerged as surprise contenders to challenge for a timely promotion back into the Premier League this term.
The defender had previously been attracting interest from Everton earlier in the season, but Bayern Munich are now reportedly keen on landing his signature on a pre-contract agreement.
Plenty of the Madejski Stadium faithful took to social media to react to Bayern Munich’s reported interest in signing Richards this month.
Take a look at the best of the reaction from Twitter below.
If he goes & we don’t make a penny it will be scandalous. Same as with Loader, we can’t keep letting these players run down contracts and getting no money for them. Don’t understand how they let the season start without him signing new deal considering was only LB in the squad

would be a backup left back, wouldn't be great for his career but its hard to turn down a team like bayern

Gutted but not surprised. Will not be shocked if he is England's starting LB in a few years. Massive opportunity for him if true.

Clubs messed up massively… again. That said, would rather us keep him for the season knowing he’s going to such a huge club overseas for nothing, than an English club get him for a bargain price. #ReadingFC https://t.co/AqnQNPfJda
