‘Gutted’, ‘Massive loss’ – Many Portsmouth fans react to recent transfer news

Published

on

Many Portsmouth fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news that goalkeeper Craig MacGillivray has signed for Charlton Athletic on a free transfer.

The move brings an end to the constant speculation over the shot stopper’s future on the South Coast as he departs Fratton Park for pastures new.

MacGillivray had been a regular feature for Pompey even since his move from Shrewsbury Town in 2018 and was by far and away one of Sky Bet League One’s best performing keepers in the season just gone.

Charlton have moved quickly to solve their goalkeeping problems by securing the signing of the Scotsman not long after Ben Amos had departed for Wigan Athletic.

Naturally the news of MacGillivray’s move to Charlton didn’t take long to reach the Pompey faithful, with many taking to social media to air their views on the matter.
