Middlesbrough have completed the signing of Rotherham United midfielder Matt Crooks.

The towering midfielder penned down a three-year contract with Boro, signing the deal at the club’s pre-season training camp in the south-west of the country.

Crooks, who signed for Rotherham in 2019 from Northampton Town, made just shy of 100 appearances for the Yorkshire club, chipping in with 18 goals in the process.

The 27-year-old spent time with Manchester United before graduating through the academy at Huddersfield Town.

After just a single appearance for The Terriers, Crooks joined Accrington Stanley where he was awarded regular football for the first time in his career.

Crooks then spent a short spell with Rangers, before spending two good years with Northampton. The Millers secured the services for the versatile midfielder in January 2019 for an undisclosed fee, and he has since gone on to be a big success at the club.
