Striker Matt Smith has left Millwall to join League Two outfit Salford City, the Championship club have confirmed.

Smith joined Millwall from QPR back in the summer of 2019, and had gone on to score 22 goals in 102 appearances in all competitions during his two-and-a-half years with the Lions.

However, with only two of goals coming in the current campaign, where he has started just seven times for Gary Rowett's side, Smith is now set for pastures new, potentially to try and kick-start his career again.

It has now been announced that Smith has completed a permanent move to Salford, joining the fourth-tier side on a free transfer.

The striker has put pen to paper on an 18-month deal with the League Two promotion hopefuls, securing his future at The Peninsula Stadium until the end of the 2022/23 season.

Taking to Twitter to react to that new, plenty of Millwall fans were keen to give their thoughts on Smith, and his latest move away from the club.

Here, we take a look at what some of those Lions supporters had to say.
