Derby County supporters will have woken up delighted this morning, after their side recorded an impressive 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in the East Midlands derby on Sunday.

Goals from Matej Vydra and David Nugent secured all three points for the Rams, with Gary Rowett’s side now moving up into 13th in the Sky Bet Championship table.

Joe Ledley, once again, put in an impressive display in central midfield, with the 30-year-old putting a disappointing week of international football behind him to help Rowett’s side to three points.

The midfielder took to Twitter shortly after the game, to deliver a message of relief following the victory.

Ledley’s tweet was well received by Derby’s supporters, with many calling for the midfielder to agree a new contract at the Pride Park Stadium.

Derby opted to sign Ledley, who was a free agent, on a deal until January.
