It has been a magnificent month for all concerned with Aston Villa, with Dean Smith's men propelling themselves into the Sky Bet Championship play-off places for the first time since September.

The Villans picked up their fourth win in as many games against Middlesbrough at the weekend, with goals from John McGinn, Anwar El Ghazi and Albert Adomah securing an invaluable three points for Villa at such a crucial stage of the campaign.

There were plenty of positives to take out of the performance - McGinn was back to his best, Albert Adomah got back amongst the goals and Smith's men kept yet another clean sheet against tough opposition.

Another positive was Keinan Davis making a long-awaited return to first-team action after a frustrating time with injuries. The 21-year-old had been limited to just one senior appearance for Villa before the weekend, and capped off his first league appearance of the season by playing a part in the assist for Adomah.
