Sunderland have completed the signing of Lewis Morgan.

The League One club confirmed the Celtic man’s arrival on loan for the rest of the season.

Jack Ross faced competition from his Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen for the temporary signature of the 22-year-old.

The pair had previously worked together at St Mirren, which was undoubtedly a factor in the young attacker choosing where to play.

The Black Cats are fifth in the third tier, with as many as three games in hand on their promotion rivals and the addition of Morgan could give them the edge in the promotion challenge.

The winger has managed 13 appearances for the Scottish giants this term under Brenden Rodgers but could now be set to move to the north of England for the next six months.

Morgan becomes the club’s third January signing behind Jimmy Dunne and Grant Leadbitter and could make his Sunderland debut this weekend at home to AFC Wimbledon.

His arrival for the fans talking on social media after the deal was confirmed.

With that said, here’s how the Sunderland fans reacted on Twitter to the news of Morgan’s loan deal.
