Coventry City have confirmed that they have signed Reading's Tennai Watson on loan until January 2020.

Watson spent last season on loan with AFC Wimbledon, and played his part in their survival in League One.

It was highly unlikely that the full-back was ever going to force his way into the Reading first-team, with Watson being behind Teddy Howe and Any Yiadom in the pecking order at the Madejski Stadium.

Watson has been with Reading for a number of years now, and made seven appearances earlier in his career for the Royals senior team in the 2016/17 season.

But with Jose Gomes adding to his squad over the summer, it seemed difficult for the 22-year-old to feature for the Berkshire-based side this term.

He'll be hoping to make an impact with Coventry, as they look to challenge for promotion into the Championship this season.

Plenty of Coventry fans took to social media to issue their thoughts on Watson's arrival.
