AFC Bournemouth have announced the signing of winger Robbie Brady on a free transfer.

The Cherries have bolstered their squad with the signing of Brady, as they continue to lead the way in the Championship.

Brady had been on the lookout for a new club after leaving Burnley at the end of the previous campaign, upon the expiry of his contract.

The winger made 19 appearances in the Premier League last season, and has made over 160 appearances in the top-flight as well as receiving 57 caps for the Republic of Ireland.

Brady has now found himself a new club, joining promotion candidates Bournemouth on a free transfer, initially on a deal until the end of the season with the Cherries holding an option.

Their CEO, Neill Blake, said: "To be able to sign a player of Robbie’s experience and calibre on a free transfer is a coup for the football club.

"Robbie has huge quality and versatility to add another important option to Scott Parker and his coaching staff.

"Proven at the top level, Robbie knows what it takes to be a Premier League player and we’re delighted he has chosen to join us at Vitality Stadium.”

Brady is a versatile left-sided option who could operate as a wing-back as well as a winger, and arrives following the news that David Brooks has been diagnosed with stage two Hodgkin Lymphoma.
