After being appointed as West Bromwich Albion's new manager in June, Slaven Bilic decided to put his own stamp on the club's squad ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.

As well as bringing in the likes of Semi Ajayi, Matheus Pereira and Grady Diangana, the Croatian also allowed a number of individuals to move on to pastures new.

One of the players who opted to leave the Hawthorns in the summer was Craig Dawson who joined Watford for a reported fee of £5.5m.

During his time with the Baggies, the defender established himself as a key player for the club as he made 225 appearances in all competitions.

After the club announced that Dawson had decided to call time on his spell in the West Midlands, plenty of West Brom fans reacted on Twitter by thanking the 29-year-old for his services.

Since making the switch to Vicarage Road, it is safe to say that Dawson has yet to deliver the goods for Watford on a consistent basis.

Although the defender has featured in all of the club's league fixtures this season, he has struggled to cope with the competitiveness on show in the Premier League.

Whilst Dawson did illustrate some signs of promise in the club's clashes with Newcastle United and Arsenal, he was woeful against Manchester City last month.

In what turned out to be an afternoon to forget for Watford, the Citizens ran riot at the Etihad Stadium as they secured an 8-0 victory.

Considering that the Hornets are currently bottom of the Premier League, Dawson will have to use all of his experience during the remainder of the campaign to help the club avoid relegation next May.

With Watford set to face Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, it will be intriguing to see whether the defender can make a decisive impact against Mauricio Pochettino's side.
