West Bromich Albion have confirmed the signing of Scunthorpe United left back Conor Townsend on a three-year contract at the Hawthorns.

In a statement on the West Bromich Albion website, the Baggies announced that the 25-year-old has put pen to paper on a three year deal, for an undisclosed fee.

West Brom manager Darren Moore stated: "This is another good acquisition for us. He's been on our radar for quite a while and I'm delighted we have beaten two other clubs to his signature."

The defender joined for Scunthorpe United in early 2016, and went on to make 94 appearances for the club in total.

Townsend will provide competition in the left full back position to current first choice Kieran Gibbs for this coming season, and will join up with the rest of the squad ahead of their opener against Bolton next week.
