Sheffield United’s return to the Sky Bet Championship was a huge success, with David Brooks playing a major part in that.

Despite falling short in their quest for play-off football, the Blades were well in contention, with Chris Wilder leading his side to 10th.

Today, Brooks, who made 30 Championship appearances last season, has departed Bramall Lane.

The 20-year-old has been sold in a club-record deal, linking up with AFC Bournemouth on a four-year deal.

Last season Brooks established himself as a first-team regular at Bramall Lane, as well as earning himself a place in the Welsh national side.

As expected, his departure has received plenty of reaction on social media, with many sending their best to the departing youngster…

Surprisingly, many Blades are in favour of Brooks’ departure, despite the youngster’s talent.

Now is a big test for the board, Wilder needs to be backed with sufficient funds this summer.
