Tests have revealed that Leeds United winger Jack Clarke was suffering with a virus after he worryingly collapsed against Middlesbrough earlier this month.

The talented 18-year-old played the first half before going off at half-time at the Riverside.

However, he collapsed late on when watching from the bench and was taken to hospital. Whilst he was discharged later that night, the club were still keen to find out why it had happened.

And, journalist Phil Hay has revealed that tests showed he had a virus and it was nothing more serious than that, with the teenager set to step up his workload in the coming weeks as he targets a comeback.

Obviously, it's not ideal that he is still likely to miss the next few games but in the bigger picture this was very good news for Clarke and Leeds United.
