Derby County have completed the signings of centre back Phil Jagielka and striker Sam Baldock on short-term contracts, the club have confirmed.

Both Jagielka and Baldock have been training with Derby this summer, having become free agents this summer following their departures from Sheffield United and Reading respectively.

Now, the Derby have secured the services of the pair for the first-half of the season, after it was announced that both players have put pen to paper on deals that are set to run until January 2022.

The duo have now taken the Rams’ tally of senior summer signings to five – after goalkeeper Ryan Allsop, centre back Richard Stearman and midfielder Ravel Morrison – with the club’s business still heavily regulated by the EFL amid its recent financial issues.
