It has been confirmed that Fulham's top goalscorer Aleksandar Mitrovic will miss between two and three weeks of action after suffering an ankle injury during the 1-0 win over Hull on the weekend.

Mitrovic was carried off in a stretcher on the 80th minute at the KCOM Stadium, which meant Fulham had every reason to fear the worst regarding his fitness, but it now appears Mitrovic's fresh setback is not as bad as first thought.

Cottagers' boss Scott Parker has revealed that he was initially sweating over the severity of the injury blow, but he revealed that the Championship's joint-top goalscorer will only miss a short period of time with the setback.

"He’s tweaked his ankle ligaments. When you start seeing your key players being injured, it’s not nice, but that’s what you have a squad for," he told the Fulham website.

"When it initially happened, we were nervous and he left the stadium in a boot, but since then, he’s had a scan and we’re hoping he’ll be alright in the next two or three weeks."

Mitrovic has been in electric goalscoring form for the West London outfit this season as he has netted 18 goals in his 26 appearances this campaign, and it now seems he will be back on the pitch some time during February.
