Reading have announced that they have agreed new contracts with both Femi Azeez and James Holden ahead of the 2021/22 Championship campaign.

Azeez caught the eye with a number of strong performances for the club's under-23s team, scoring ten goals in 17 appearances for the Royals, before earning his senior debut as a late substitute against Sheffield Wednesday in March 2021.

Whilst Holden is yet to make his senior debut for the club, and will be keen to force his way into Veljko Paunovic's plans in the future.

Reading endured a frustrating second-half of the 2020/21 season, as a poor run of results saw them drop out of the play-off positions.

Veljko Paunovic's side finished seventh in the second-tier standings, and will be hoping they can make another serious push for promotion into the Premier League this term.

Plenty of the Madejski Stadium faithful took to social media to issue their thoughts on their recent contract agreements with both Azeez and Holden.
