Leeds United have reportedly launched themselves into pole position to sign Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow.

Reports claim that Leeds are rivalling Aston Villa to land the 28-year old, who has become surplus to requirements for Rafa Benitez' men, having fallen behind Martin Dubravka in the pecking order at St. James' Park.

With Leeds searching for a new goalkeeper, here, we discuss whether Darlow would be a good signing for Leeds United...

George Harbey

Darlow would be an excellent signing for Leeds.

He's been successful at this level, playing an integral role in Newcastle's promotion-winning season in 2017.

He's the best option out there for Leeds, I believe.

Gary Hutchinson

I think he’d be a great signing for them, but a word of caution; how is he going to feel if BPF keeps him out of the side.

There’s value in them not spending big, bringing in a ‘veteran’ who is prepared to play second fiddle.

After all, BPF is turning into a fine keeper.

Also, is Darlow PL quality? Is spending on him wise if they go up and immediately want someone else?

Jacob Potter

He's exactly what they need.

Darlow is an excellent goalkeeper and he's been unlucky not to get into the starting XI at Newcastle this season.

He has already proven himself in the Championship and would be an ideal signing to challenge Peacock-Farrell for a starting spot at Elland Road.

Louie Chandler

Great news.

Peacock-Farrell has proven he is a star for the imminent future, but the Whites could do with an experienced head for the second half of the season.

It's a move that would give them a big advantage.
