Ipswich Town continued their summer preparations on Wednesday by agreeing a new contract with experienced striker Freddie Sears.

The 29-year-old agreed a two-year extension to his deal with the Tractor Boys, a deal that gives the club the option of an extra 12 month extension too if they wish to use it.

Sears played 24 times in a disastrous 2018/19 campaign for Ipswich, but still managed six goals and five assists before picking up a horrible injury.

A ruptured cruciate ligament suffered in February kept him out for the remainder of the season and is expected to keep him sidelined until early 2020.

Since making the move to the club in from Colchester United, Sears has scored 30 goals in 176 appearances, racking up 23 assists too.

He has become a bit of a fan-favourite in that time as well so it was no surprise to see a positive response to the news...
