Steve Bruce has done a fine job since he took over at Sheffield Wednesday with the experienced boss yet to taste to defeat as boss.

Therefore, it's only fair to credit the players too, as the vast majority have seriously improved under the ex-Aston Villa manager.

But, one man who hasn't kicked on under Bruce is Atdhe Nuhiu, with the target man struggling for much of the season in truth.

That's not what many fans expected after his superb end to the previous campaign where he was one of few bright spots under Jos Luhukay.

His fine form, with the majority of his 11 league goals coming in the final few months of the season, saw him sign a new deal in May last year as his previous contract was set to expire in the summer.

And, it's fair to say it delighted many Owls fans back then.

Yet, the 29-year-old has failed to take that form into the current campaign, with the Kosovo international having scored just three goals in 29 appearances.

Clearly, that's not good enough and the fans have understandably been on his back recently as they want more from the Rapid Vienna man.

When Nuhiu isn't at his best he can be a very frustrating figure as he isn't mobile and often looks a yard off the pace.

The way Bruce has transformed the side since taking over bodes well for next season and he could have a big summer clearout to make his own mark on the squad.

So, Nuhiu will be aware that he needs to quickly rediscover the levels he displayed this time last year if he wants to remain in the Owls plans moving forward.
