Wolverhampton Wanderers travel to Preston North End on Saturday afternoon, with Nuno Santo’s side looking to tighten their grasp on the Sky Bet Championship title.

The Portuguese boss’ men are twelve points clear of second placed Aston Villa with just fifteen games remaining, and each passing win edges Wolves closer to their long-awaited Premier League return.

The club were handed a boost ahead of their trip to Deepdale, with The Express and Star reporting that striker Leo Bonatini and midfielder Romain Saiss are fit to return to the squad following absences through injury.

Saiss has been out for three games with a hamstring injury, with twelve-goal Brazilian forward Bonatini missing last weekend’s 2-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers at Molineux.

However Santo confirmed that winger Bright Enobakhare is ruled out with a minor knock.

The Verdict

Preston are in a good run of form and in the hunt for a play-off spot, and Wolves’ trip to the north west will be no walk in the park.

The return of the influential Saiss as well as top scorer Bonatini will come as a huge boost, despite the fact the Brazilian has hit a patch of rough form in recent weeks.

Santo almost has a full squad to choose from following the pair’s return to action, and it appears to be just a matter of time before their promotion to the Premier League is confirmed.
