Norwich City travel to Molineux to face table topping Wolves tonight and they have been handed a huge boost in pursuit of a positive result after Daniel Farke admitted that Ivo Pinto is in contention for selection.

A bizarre knee injury picked up getting out of his car has sidelined Canaries captain Pinto for a month but Farke has revealed that the defender could make his return to first team action against Nuno Santo's side.

He also proved his fitness in a slightly less conventional way by racing off the bench to celebrate Timm Klose's last-gasp dramatic equaliser against bitter rivals Ipswich Town on Sunday - and he will need to be that sharp on his feet if he is selected to face Wolves' jet-heeled attack tonight.

Farke told the Eastern Daily Press: "It wasn’t a tough call. He wasn’t so much involved at the beginning of the week in training.

“When you return after injury it is not so easy to [play] three games in six days. We felt he couldn’t play [against Ipswich] and at Wolves. From a tactical point of view we might need his speed at Wolves in defensive situations."

The Verdict

A late equaliser at the weekend and the return of the club captain all add up to a strong boost for Daniel Farke and hi players.

They will need all the confidence they can get because we all know the size of the task that faces them in trying to take all three points from Molineux tonight.
