Ronaldo Vieira is part of England's side for the Toulon tournament in the summer.

The 19-year-old has previous experience in this tournament because he was part of the England Under-20s side, that won it last year with his successful spot kick in the penalty shootout ensuring they won the final.

Although it wasn't the main U20s side because it clashed with the Under-20 World Cup while also being close to the Under-21 Euros.

He has clearly impressed Aidy Boothroyd with some of his performances for Leeds this season even if he has struggled for form at times.

His teammate Tom Pearce will also be there after settling into the first-team well when Paul Heckingbottom gave him his debut.

Heckingbottom has been willing to give him opportunities because he has been involved in half of his 16 games in charge with fitness issues limiting that.

Altogether he made 28 league appearances with two assists, although his role is much more varied than that due to his deep position.

This is the tweet from the official Leeds account announcing the news:

The Verdict

This is great news for Vieira and the club because he gets to build up his experience while Leeds can benefit because he will be well prepared for next season.

Getting into the England U21s is no mean feat because England have plenty of talent coming through, so this is a great achievement for Vieira and an opportunity he needs to take because Gareth Southgate is clearly intending to evolve the senior team by bringing through players from these younger age groups.

These younger age group international tournaments are increasingly becoming a way for players to show their talents to a wide audience especially as England's stock rises, so a good tournament performance could see him rewarded.
