Cardiff City defender Joe Bennett has declared himself fit to play following his recovery from injury, in a post shared with fans on Twitter.
The defender has become an important part of Neil Warnock’s promotion-chasing squad since arriving last year, and his return will come as a huge boost to the squad at the Cardiff City Stadium.
The Bluebirds entertain in-form Brentford this weekend, with a win presenting the hosts with an opportunity to regain the final automatic promotion spot they surrendered to Sheffield United prior to the international break.
27-year-old Bennett expressed his relief at returning to the fold, but is likely to start on the bench on Saturday afternoon, with Lee Peltier expected to continue in the wing-back role for at least another week.
Fans of the Welsh side took to Twitter to express their delight at the Rochdale-born man’s return, with many pleased to see the defender back in the fold…
