Fleetwood Town
‘Great move’ – Plenty of Stoke City fans react as defender’s temporary departure is confirmed

Stoke City have announced that Tom Edwards has left the club to sign for League One side Fleetwood Town on a season-long loan deal.
The full-back made 15 appearances for the Stoke first-team last season as they finished 15th in the Championship table, in what was a frustrating league campaign for the club’s supporters.
But he has failed to make a single appearance this season for the Potters, who are currently sat 13th in the second-tier standings under the management of Michael O’Neill.
The Stoke boss is clearly keen to find Edwards regular game time this season though, and has sent him out on loan to Joey Barton’s Fleetwood Town for the remainder of this year’s campaign.
Fleetwood are currently sat 14th in the League One table after their opening five matches, and they’ll be eager to challenge for promotion into the Championship once again, after narrowly missing out last season after a defeat to Wycombe Wanderers in their play-off semi-final.
Plenty of Stoke City fans took to social media to react to the news that Edwards has left the club on loan this season.
Take a look at the best of the reaction from Twitter below….
Ridiculously good signing for Fleetwood! Should be playing championship football week in week out. Probably only got himself to blame really but hopefully this gives him a kick up the arse and pull his finger out! Good luck Tom.

Damn! Surprised to see him drop down a division. Hopefully he'll have a monumental season as should be way above that level.

Good move for him.
Fleetwood seemed to be good for Souttar, hopefully a similar impact with Edwards.
